>Greetings Tweeters.
>Last week, Weds - Friday I spent some time in Okanogan County. It was work
>mostly but I did get some time to bird, mostly in transit. I had a couple
>of good sightings in the process and plenty of birds around to make things
>interesting. The following is my abbreviated list:
>
>5/23: White-throated Swifts at Alta Lake State Park. At Cassimer Bar: A
>flight of 20+ Turkey Vultures, Sora, Blue, and Cinnamon Teal. Cameron Lake
>Road: Short-eared Owl (2), BLACK-NECKED STILT (2), American Avocet,
>Wilsons Phalarope (3), Grasshopper (1) and Brewers Sparrows, and Gray
>Partridge. The shorebirds were at the first shallow pond, 7 or so miles in
>(from the south end) near the boundary between Sections 33 and 34.
>
>5/24: Halequin Duck, 1 female along the Twisp River near Elbow Coulee.
>
>5/25: Beaver Pond (Patterson Lake Rd): Barrows Goldeneye, Ruffed Grouse,
>Calliope Hummingbirds (many), and Cassin's Vireo to name just a few.
>Generally there was a lot of bird activity here and only a very brief
>visit. Along the Twisp-Carlton Road were Black-Chinned Hummingbird, many
>Veery, Gray Catbirds, and a few Red-eyed Vireo. Along Starr Road (S. of
>Pateros and paralleling Hwy 97) there were Lark Sparrows.
>
>Good Birding,
