Sunday afternoon we found the W-F Ibis at Ridgefield NWR. It was at Canvasback 'Lake'. It was loosely associated with loafing ducks, where it would disappear amongst the taller grasses from time to time. It was spotted while looking back to the NNW (to below the Kiwa trailhead) from the far corner of the loop road. This is where the road departs the Oregon Ash woodland and where the road turns a sharp 90 degrees at a water control structure as leaves this 'Lake'. Yes, its not what you'd call a lake, but that is what is on the map/flier. Maybe a marsh right now?
Actually, it was an adult Bald Eagle overhead that seemingly caused the Ibis to fly back to the area of the ducks. It was seen in the air while binoculars were following the Bald Eagle. There appeared to be at least two White-faced Ibis in that area.
Also noted were 4 Greater White-fronted Geese at the marsh called 'Ruddy Lake'.
