After a year or two of absence, the Flickers are back nesting in one of the three big boxes we've put up within 15 feet of one another back under the Dougfir. The three (3) box strategy of providing a nestbox for the Starlings and two for the Flickers, one to roost in and the other to nest in seems to work. Looking forward to very soon hearing those young calling "mau-mau" from the nest box anticipating the return of the adults.
