The White-faced Ibis reported Saturday night in Whatcom County on Slater
Road was observed feeding over a two hour period this morning (Monday) in
the same location as earlier reported, a city block west of the Silver Reef
Casino on the Lummi Reservation. It foraged quite close to the road and
offered excellent views, still there when we left the area about 10:30 a.m.
Can be accessed by taking Exit 260 (Slater Road) from I-5, head west, pass
the casino at Haxton Way, and it was in the only visible "wetland" on the
left (south) side of Slater Road. Easy parking and 5 minutes from I-5.
