Brien Meilleur and I and a couple with a camera saw the Yellow-breasted Chat just nw or the first bridge south of the Stillwater parking lot, noting it first by its calls at about 200 yards west of the trail. It came in to our feeble imitations.

We also saw two American Bitterns flying near there and relocated the singing male Lazuli Bunting along the trail at and just north of 124th street (at the round-about south of Duvall).

We visited the Stillwater Bank Swallow colony and counted ca. 75 freshly excavated nest holes. I can't say how many might be occupied at any one time, but there could be over 100 birds at the colony this year. There are also a couple of pairs of Northern Rough-winged Swallows nesting nearby.

Below are links to two additional images captured yesterday (Monday) morning on the trail near Stillwater. One of the unusual aspects of the morning was that I had visuals on probably five different SWAINSON'S THRUSH instead of just hearing them. Several actually afforded some good photo ops - a situation I have very rarely encountered. Additionally, there were numerous RED-BREASTED SAPSUCKER individuals in a relatively small area. One worked a number of trailside trees down close to the ground, allowing for some good image opportunities. One shot is at http://www.tubbsphoto.com/-/tubbsphoto/detail.asp?photoID=3925670&cat=38983.

For those of you who haven't ventured to the Stillwater area yet, it is a wonderful place to bird. The access is excellent due to the Snoqualmie Valley Trail, WDFW parking lot and several walking trails that lead through the large public land tract there.
