Hi Tweets,

Yesterday afternoon I was on the back patio enjoying the weather and having
a chat with Marissa Benavente and Penny Rose when a Common Nighthawk
flew over. It called once, not very loudly (but then it was rather high up) and
moved on to the north. This is the 2nd time we've had this species over the
yard. Last year it was on June 10th, in the midst of a spate of local sightings.
Has anyone else seen any nighhawks in Pugetopolis recently?

Also, Marissa heard a Willow Flycatcher "fitz-bewing" around the neighborhood
early this morning and there was a Black-headed Grosbeak in our maple tree
and a Swainsons' Thrush has been around the last couple of days. Although
migration has slowed down here the late-comers are still moving through.

good birding,
