Here is one where I had to rub my eyes in disbelief.....

This morning, at 6:10 am, I was walking down the hill to downtown Renton, from where I live. I had already seen a flock of 6 Canada Geese in flight and then two Great Blue Herons, when all of a sudden their was a low flying Sandhill Crane, alone, heading east. I had a very good look, dangling feet and all.

The hill is variously called "Renton Hill" or "Benson Hill", the very northern side of the east hill which extends southward to Auburn. This is south of the Cedar River.

As it was heading east a place to look might be Cavanaugh Pond, along the Cedar River. This is about half way between Renton and Maple Valley. In any case this is a spot worth taking a look at if you haven't been there. Can anyone give good directions there?
