Tweets,

Yesterday I saw a beautiful male mandarin duck, the first I've seen on Pine
Lake in the seven plus years I have lived here. The duck is hanging out with
mallards, and came into our yard while we were outside. See photo here:

Fall arrivals are numerous as well. Both male and female buffleheads arrived
last weekend, blue-winged teals, ring-necked ducks, hooded and common
mergansers, and northern shovelers are seen daily now. And finally, after a two
month absence, our bald eagles have returned. (Sadly, they seem to love noshing
on female buffs....)
