Tweeters,

This message is about birds. If there was ever an issue that needs to
be aired on all listserves that are involved in any way with birds or
nature, this is it. The government now has plans for a Mexican border
wall that is TWO MILES FROM THE RIO GRANDE on the US side. This
includes most of the refuges that have been painstakingly crafted
from the very special habitats in the Lower Rio Grande Valley. It
would leave the wildlife there open to poaching from the Mexican side
of the river, would make all that area inaccessible to birders and
naturalists, and would doubtless do very little to stop the flood of
illegal immigration.

We should all be paraphrasing Ronald Reagan at the Brandenburg gate
with something like "Mr. Bush, tear down this wall."
