The feeding station at Ediz Hook in Port Angeles had a Snow Bunting and
a Lapland Longspur today. Judy Mullally called me this morning to report the
Snow Bunting and I went in this afternoon and saw the Lapland Longspur and
eventually the Snow Bunting with Mary Robson.
The feeding station is 30 to 40 yards west of the bathrooms on the
Strait side of the Hook. The bathrooms are just west of the Coast Guard gate
and the Pilot House. The man usually puts out the birdseed in the morning
about 9 or 10 o'clock but he put it out at about 3:30 PM this afternoon and
the Snow Bunting showed up shortly after that. The Longspur had been present
earlier. Also seen at the feeding station were a large number of House
Sparrows, about 20 Black Turnstones and 30 Sanderlings.
