We found the flock of 20+ black turnstones and sufbirds that Mark Vernon
reported yesterday, on the rocks just below the walkway. What a nice place
to see them, quite close and untroubled by our presence. Our flock today
was about half of each type.

Other nice birds on the water from Duwamish Head included a group of 28
Barrow's Goldeneyes, diving in close at breaks between the people walking
by, plus lots of surf scoters and horned grebes. a female merganser was too
far out too tell: common vs. red-throated.

Mark, thanks for the alert.
