Possibly. On the other hand the salt might be just what they need. I
was hoping that someone on Tweeters might know of research evidence --
or even some anecdotal evidence like, "My friend put out salt peanuts
and after a few months found a dessicated Steller's jay corpse in her
backyard." Maybe it will show up yet.
