Subject: [Tweeters] Late Vaux's Swift entire message; TK still in Kent

Tweeters,

My first email was sent before I finished it.

Once again: I was astonished to see a small, rapidly fluttering swift yesterday, Nov. 19. While leading a birding group, we encountered the swift low over the road on the Samish Flats, just north of the East 90 where the road turns east again. From its appearance, I don't have any reason to suspect it was any other species than Vaux's. The bird didn't stay around for prolonged study.

This sighting would seem to be one of, if not the latest, record for Washington. Any comments from those who keep careful track of such records??

Also, at least one Tropical Kingbird was on hand yesterday afternoon along 287th near Kent.

Good birding, Bob
