During an afternoon walk yesterday along the shore at Golden Gardens Park
(Seattle), we had a rare Puget Sound sighting of a single BROWN PELICAN.
The bird was flying north.
The choppy water made it a bit challenging to find birds, but we did see
several RED-BREASTED MERGANSERS, BUFFLEHEADS, HORNED GREBES, and RED-NECKED
GREBES.
The ponds there were mostly occupied by MALLARDS and several AM.WIGEONS.
One HOODED MERGANSER was napping in one of the ponds.
