Walked my usual figure-8, 1.6-mile trail loop with a few detours
between 1242 and 1429. Bird activity rather low. Salmon still
spawning in McLane Creek in large numbers.

>From I-5 take Exit 104 in Olympia onto US 101 west-bound; exit US 101
at 2nd Ave NW (Mud Bay exit; MP 362.8); turn left and go south on 2nd
Ave SW ~0.3 mile; turn left (east) on Mackenzie Road; go 1.3 miles to
Tee intersection with Delphi Road; turn right (south) and go 1.9 miles
to the McLane Creek entrance road. The first parking area (0.2 mile) is
for the Centennial Demonstration Forest trails; the terminal parking
area (0.4 mile) is for the McLane Creek Nature Trail.

>From US 101 east-bound, the 2nd Ave SW exit at MP 362.3 is signed for
Aberdeen and Shelton; turn right (south) on 2nd Ave SW and follow the
above directions.
