Subject: [Tweeters] Northern Shrike, Fir Island

Having been forced to drive to Everett, I extended to
Fir Island. The goose hunters were active, but the
Snow goose and swan flocks were far out away from the
hunters. The best bird of the day was a Northern
Shrike at the end of Rawlins Rd. I have to work very
hard chasing rarities to add a NA life bird these
days, so it was a thrill to turn up such a great bird
on a random birding hour.

There was one distant Rough-legged Hawk amongst all
the Red-tails.

The area was full of Harriers, so I'd expect
Short-eared Owls at dusk and dawn.
