Hi Tweets,

Many of us who live in the Edmonds area and bird it frequently were
not happy with the visual blight of the condominiums built on the
hill to the south of the Marsh, nor with the developer for clear-
cutting the slope for million-dollar views. One tiny consolation is
a public path along the rim of the condo development that allows you
to see two ponds in the Marsh that are not observable from the
boardwalk. The slope below the path looks promising for sparrow
activity and spring passerines. At the moment you can also see the
heron nests although they will probably be obscured in the spring
when the trees leaf out. When you come down Edmonds Way, turn left
at Pine Street. On the left you will see the sign for Deer Creek
Hatchery (also a good place to bird). Park outside the hatchery and
then walk uphill a short block. You will see the sign that says
"Public Path." It is worth adding to your birding circuit when in
Edmonds.
