This morning Bill Clemons and Carol Ledford spotted a Barred Owl on the
access road for Ridgefield NWR. They were kind enough to lead me back from
where they met me in the refuge, to the owl. You can see a picture I took
of the owl at the following site:

Bill and Carol. I also spotted, along with Bill, Carol and Al Larrabee, an
adult White-tailed Kite just north of the blind. Also, I was able to see
two Rough-legged Hawks mixed in with, at least a dozen Red-tailed Hawks and
several Northern Harriers all feeding in the field that is adjacent to the
road just after it turns due east from Rest Lake. Previously, by the blind,
I had seen another Rough-legged Hawk which I'm fairly confident was
different from these other two. A beautiful morning for birding.
