Hello Tweeters and to all Birders,

The new WOSNews 112 is out,and I like to make few comment's about this issue.First I like to thank Kathy Andrich for writing such excellent and detailed report about the 19 the Annual WOS Conference which took place in grays Harbor and outer coast from the 14-17,2007.It was a success with 203 species found and 120 participating birders it was also a special event to hear Dennis Paulson was the keynote speaker where he spoke of some the Shorebirds are so declining the number one shorebird in particular was the Red Knot.There was 3 Pelagic trips what was new for this convention ant a total success.Kathy going in to details what was sighted on all the fieldtrips and other events. A Big thank you for Kathy for such detailed report
Michael Hobbs added 2 pages of photo Gallery in colors,what was new for WOS.
Doug Schonewald wrote a nice description what you expect to going birding in cold winter weather on birds in Eastern and Western Washington.How to prepare yourself for any condition what could occur when not prepared.Well written to birders what never birded in Easton Washington during cold and snowy weather.
Now last,I like to bring up my Son Patrick who passed away on September the 19th of this year.Two days after the BIG WOS Convention where we both participated leading 5 Fieldtrips.One would not expect after having such a good time and always been on some kind of high,how can this happen?Patrick took his own live in case some birders not getting the news about this.I ask this question over and over what did I missed here?
Gina Sheridan wrote such nice article in this issue "REMEMBERING PATRICK." It is so well spoken off what Gina experience when birding with Patrick,I got so spoiled having birded with Patrick all this year,And there are "THE BEST YEARS " of my inter life.It was Patrick what changed my whole life when I followed Patrick when he was young boy becoming a birder also,and wished that I have started in much younger years. How often I did I hear this from other birders to.I must think of Patrick as the gentle quite young man,how often I was thinking now of the quality and character he had what so many people liked beside his birding
Gina I must thank you for the most wonderful words you describe Patrick was and he will be remembered for this by all.
I also like to thank Andy Stepniewski generous contribution of royalties from sale of "A Birder's Guide to Washington " This young Birders Fund was renamed.
" The Patrick Sullivan Young Birders Fund." I am so grateful to all what made this happen.I hope that many of all birders going to be at The Memorial for Patrick on the 3rd of December what is next Monday.
