Hi Tweets:
This owl message from Jim B is quite interesting. I guess there are still a few W
Screech Owls in S King County!
Ingrid Hansen lives next to Eagle Landing Park which is located in thick, mixed woods
on the bluffs over Puget Sound in Burien. Apparently there are actively calling W
Screech Owls there. Ingrid heard them calling at about 6am this past week.
Unfortunately, the Barred Owls have moved into some of our other favorite Screech Owl
spots in S King County, and we no-longer hear the small owls in many places.
Yours, Carol Schulz

Sometimes when I drive down my driveway at night, near Eagle Landing Park in
Burien, ( http://www.eaglelandingpark.org ) a bird comes from behind and
swoops down over my widsheild and through my headlight beams. Is this an
owl using me for hunting assistance? I have heard Screech owls in the
park--could this be a Screech owl swooping through my headlights? It has
happened about a dozen times, but the bird flies so fast I have a hard time
getting a good look.
