Gorgeous afternoon Tuesday. Found a quiet, dark
Merlin sitting in a tree above Lake Drive -- the dead
end north of Kirkland's Downtown Marina. Definitely a
"Black Merlin" race, looked like a male.

Gorgeous , cooperative bird. Didn't flinch as cars
and people went by 30 feet below it.
