Hi Dawn,

I would agree with your ID. Your bird looks virtually identical to the molting adult Ruddy Turnstone in O'Brien et al, The Shorbird Guide, p. 127, no. 12. BTW, in that guide the range map and comment show the bird as common along both coasts and gulf coast but rare inland.

Nice picture btw. The Turnstone is just a bit underexposed, but with all that white, it is hard to pull off a perfect exposure.

Hi Tweets,

a friend went to Florida and took pictures of birds for me and of all the great bird pictures I now have, these two look like a sanderling and a black turnstone. but the book says black turnstones do not grace Florida.
I am sure you all can help me id these birds
