Dear Tweeters and Fellow Skagit Birders,

Sorry for the late post. Sunday afternoon I found a
female REDHEAD in Hamilton. She was in the little
slough, visible from a causeway on the east side of
town--not the bridge near Unimin, but the causeway, by
where the Cascade Trail had a bridge destroyed by
flood in 2003.

This was only my second sighting of the species in the
county in 2007--they have virtually stopped showing up
at Beaver Lake and Big Lake, and on salt water, and
the only semi-reliable place for them now is Lake Erie
in Anacortes--even there, it takes considerable luck
to find the occasional Redhead.

At Lyman there are still a few shorebirds at the
river; yesterday were two Long-billed Dowitchers and
two Wilson's Snipe there.
