Hi Tweeters,

We met Ruth and Patrick on several occasions here on the Peninsula, and in the field.

I think the suggestion of a trail name is wonderful where ever it happens; perhaps the name should be Sullivan so that we honor Ruth as well. And, I will contribute money to fund that trail.

Dear Tweeters,



I wanted to add to those who have written about Ruth and Patrick. I was on

Patrick's last field trip, the wonderful WOS trip to Ocean Shores. Patricia

Lott already wrote about the trip and about Patrick's kindness and

helpfulness to all of us that day. I had met Ruth and Patrick only once

before; it was at the Black-tailed Gull and I clearly remember this very

nice, handsome young man who noticed that I was having trouble finding the

gull; he came over and put my scope on it for me and, after making sure that

I was on the bird, went off to help another person get on it. And

another. And yet another. That, of course, was Patrick.



Like many of us who have posted, I do not know Ruth and Patrick well, but

they have been part of the background of life that I took for granted,

reading their postings on Tweeters and taking notice of where they ha been

and what they had seen, and figuring that one day I'd go on one of their

big trips.



I hope that we, individually and as a community, can find ways to support

and help Ruth now and in the months and years ahead.
