After a relatively short absence, I believe juncos showed up in our yard the same day as Golden-crowned Sparrow - Sept. 20.? (It was also the same day GCSP showed up at Marymoor.)

Subject: [Tweeters] juncos?
Has anyone had juncos return to their yard in the Greater Seattle lowlands? I haven't, and I'm shocked, as my arrival dates have been as follows:
12 Sep 93
20 Sep 94
3 Sep 95
20 Sep 96
20 Sep 97
21 Sep 98
9 Oct 99
24 Sep 00
4 Sep 01
22 Sep 02
27 Sep 03
7 Sep 04
19 Sep 05
18 Sep 06
Of course I might have missed the first day or so and was doubtless out of town during a few of those Septembers, but the juncos were definitely present by those dates! Thus it really surprises me that on this year of (seemingly) winter weather coming early, I have no juncos. I'll be sure to post when the first one appears.
