Hi Tweets:
At Anacortes beside a seasonal creek the first Junco appeared on 9/23(last year 9/14). Sorry to say it met it's fate to the neighborhood cat. In the evening 3-4 appeared on the deck. By 9/29 the Junco count was up to 20 plus, then 30-20 until October 5th when numbers surged to over 100. Sparrow numbers seem unusually sparse while woodpeckers, chickadees, house and gold finches seem consistent with past seasons. A young Red-tailed Hawk, a young Coopers and a Merlin have shown up the past few days. That's it for now.
