Subject: [Tweeters] 30+ Vultures over Vashon

Around 11am this morning as I started out my run from Ellisport on the east side of Vashon I saw at least three Turkey Vultures spiraling just over the tree tops. It was still very grey and completely overcast and trying to mist now and then. Two hours later I happened to be approaching the area again driving east along Cemetery Road where the 90 degree corner goes around the grown over farm fields and saw several groups flying just over the tree tops again and then moving south. The weather had turned mostly sunny about half an hour before. I get the impression that the birds may have just risen with the warmth of the sun and then continued their migration.

We also got our first Ring-necked Ducks of the season yesterday at the pond along Old Mill Road and Kathryn True heard GWF Geese over her place on the north tip of Vashon earlier this week.
