Since there haven't been any reports of the Juanita (Kirkland) American
Black Duck since it was posted a couple days ago, I thought I'd say that my
wife and I say it today around 11am. After looking for it from the
boardwalks in Juanita Bay Park we were able to locate the bird in the grass
park of Juanita Beack Park (on the north side of the bay). After watching
the bird for 5 min, the ducks and gulls decided to try to beg for a snack,
which brought the Black Duck within 15 of us. Great looks. From this range
we were able to study the bird, confirm that all the field marks were
present, and decided that it looked totally pure (unhybridized).
