Nothing too special out in the lower Chehalis valley this afternoon. The wind was moderately strong out of the east so most birds were in sheltered areas out of the wind. In the blackberry patches along the private lake south of Vance Creek county park, I pished up a good number of Golden-crowned and White-crowned Sparrows. A few Song Sparrows popped up too. Along Wenzel Slough Rd. further to the west, I watched a male Northern Harrier do acrobatics in the wind. Brady Loop was quiet with one Red-tailed Hawk and a single Western Meadowlark seen. This past Sunday morning, Brady Loop had a large Canada Goose flock on the southern end of Foster Rd..
