Hello all,
On our (MerryLynn, Ginger, Priscilla) usual Tuesday morning walk around
Bennington Lake we were treated to nice views of a female Black-throated
Gray Warbler - a rare bird in this county. Also had a Nashville Warbler and
a House Wren - on this beautiful warm, blue sky day.
Had a few Yellow-rumps but no Orange-crowned or Wilson's Warblers which is
what we usually find this time of year.
Other birds included Great Egret, 4 Greater White-fronted Geese, Western and
Horned Grebe, Common Mergansers and a Wood Duck among the many coots,
pintails, and GW teal. Two Greater Yellowlegs, 8 LB Dows and a Western
Sandpiper were enjoying the mud.
One of 3 Townsend's Solitaires was singing and the Sharp-shinned Hawk was
harassing all the flocks of WC sparrows, YR warblers, finches and juncos.
Next week we are walking on Wednesday morning at 8 if anyone is interested
