I spent last weekend flyfishing the upper Klickitat River and broke away
a few times to do some birding up on the upper ridges of the valley at
times, just south of the Yakama Indian Reservation. Here's what I saw:

Common Merganser (male and female) in river
Golden Eagle
Belted Kingfisher
Northern Flicker
Gray Jay
Steller's Jay
American Crow
Common Raven
American Dipper (one at Outlet Creek and the other one in Bear Creek)
Mountain Bluebirds (very large flock 25+ with with a few American
Goldfinches mixed in)
American Robin
Dark-eyed Junco
American Goldfinch

Critters seen:

Large rattlesnake (with 11 rattler rings)
Western Gray Squirrel (threatened species)

If anyone is interested in seeing any of the photos of this area plus a
close-up of the rattlesnake, just email me and I'll send them to you.
