There was a Northern Shrike this afternoon (as late as 1 p.m. on Saturday)
at the Fill working the snags and Hawthorns along the western most pond.
>From time to time it flew to the tallest deciduous tree (now bare) on the
edge of the cannel between the UW Stadium and the Fill's western most point.
It was calling, which got my attention. Appears to be a first year bird
by its breast feathers and light markings.
