I haven't been birding the College much but managed to race through it yesterday. Not a lot of birds, but one very pleasant surprise. Wood ducks have been on the surge pond for many years. Now there's many wood ducks.
10 males, 5 females wood ducks as near as I could count, possibly more
2 male, 2 female gadwalls
Pied billed grebe with 3 juvenile deliquents
1 male, 1 female mallard
the rest of the green space was pretty quiet except for the usual black capped chickadees, a few house finches, several Anna's hummers, crows, zero robins! and evidence of a coyote.
The surge pond is best observed from the south end where you can look up the entire length without disturbing the birds much.
