Yesterday, I spent some time birding in the Northwest King County and Southwest Snohomish County area. First stop was the Mountlake Fill at mid morning where I looked around in hopes of relocating the longspur to no avail, but did see the NORTHERN SHRIKE that was in the area. Next, off to Juanita Bay Park to see the AMERICAN BLACK DUCK and it was there, exact same spot as in Oct/Nov 2004. Then off to Edmonds to check out the waterfront (even though the fog was thick) for alcids or whatever. Some of the highlights included:

PACIFIC LOON - a couple seen at Bracketts Landing Park - Edmonds

WOOD DUCK - Juanita Bay Park

AMERICAN BLACK DUCK - Juanita Bay Park

VIRGINIA RAIL - Edmonds Marsh and Juanita Bay Park

RHINOCEROS AUKLET - Edmonds Fishing Pier

ANNA'S HUMMINGBIRD - Bracketts Landing Park Juanita Bay Park

NORTHERN SHRIKE - Mountlake Fill

Cheers and Good Birding
