Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Thursday October 18. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls

On October 14 a MANX-TYPE SHEARWATER was off Bob Creek Wayside north of
Florence. Another was off Boiler Bay October 17, along with a South Polar
Skua.

Heavy southward movements of BROWN PELICANS, loons, and scoters were
reported along the coast during the week.

On October 16, 115 MARBLED GODWITS were on Coos Bay. On October 13 a
TROPICAL KINGBIRD was at Bob Creek Wayside, and another was near Stonefield
Beach north of Florence. A TROPICAL KINGBIRD is now being seen along
Wireless Road near Astoria. On October 11, 30 LAPLAND LONGSPURS were at the
South Jetty of the Columbia River.

One LAPLAND LONGSPUR was near the Portland Airport October 11. The next day
a SAY?S PHOEBE was at the Airport. On October 12 a RED-SHOULDERED HAWK was
at Oaks Bottom in Portland. That day a SWAINSON?S HAWK flew south over
Oregon City. A male RUFF is now being seen at the Fernhill Wetlands. On
October 15, 24 SURF SCOTERS were on Hagg Lake, south of Forest Grove. On
October 13 single RED-SHOULDERED HAWKS were at the Fernhill Wetlands and at
Jackson Bottom in Hillsboro. There are now two MOUNTAIN CHICKADEES on top of
Marys Peak. On October 13 a LAPLAND LONGSPUR was at Finley NWR.

On October 11 a RED-SHOULDERED HAWK and a ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK were south of
Klamath Falls.
