Subject: Puget Sound Nearshore technical papers

The Puget Sound Nearshore Partnership is a
large-scale initiative that affords a unique opportunity to tackle some
of the foremost habitat restoration needs in Washington State's Puget
Sound basin. Nearshore Project goals are to identify significant
ecosystem problems, evaluate potential solutions, and restore and
preserve critical nearshore habitat. It is a partnership between
federal agencies including the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps),
state, and local government organizations, tribes, industries, and
environmental organizations.

There is a Nearshore Science team that has been working to provide a
sound basis for the decisions this project makes. The Science team
identified parts of the ecosystem that represent multiple functions.
Reports have been drafted, peer reviewed and now published. They are
written in a manner that I think is useful to both policy staff and
technical staff.
