Hi Tweeters,

I thought it would be a nice gesture to cheer Ruth
while she is recooperating from hip surgery to share
with her and other birders the amazing impact Patrick
had on our birding lives. Thank you Patrick for these
life birds:

Temminck's Stint

Red-footed Goose (the Bean Goose was a wild goose
chase for me...)

**Long-eared Owl
**Greater Sage Grouse
**Eurasian Collared Dove (These three birds on E Wa
trip in 2006)

White-tailed Ptarmigan (ran into Patrick and Ruth
here, originally found by one of our young birders but
can't remember who, was it Ryan Merrill?)

Rusty Blackbird (originally found by Marv Breece)

I'm sure I missed a couple.

Ruth needed to go through with her hip surgery despite
the tragic loss of her only child Patrick one month
ago today. Patrick was one of the most naturally
gifted and talented birders in Washington state.

Ruth came home last Sunday from the hospital and has
help at home but could use some cheer from us as she
slowly heals. She is online and very up to date with
Tweeters but she is unable to sit yet for any length
of time.

To all who have been wondering the details will be
confirmed this weekend, but there will be a memorial
for Patrick in the future. Ruth wasn't ready at first
for this but now she is looking forward to it. It
will be announced soon.

To all please share your life bird memories that
Patrick found with all of us on Tweeters or send
directly to Ruth's at godwit513 at msn.com.

Get well soon, Ruth.

Kathy
