This morning there were 32 Western Grebes on Lake Tye in Monroe, by the
afternoon they had dwindled to 10. They do show up randomly during late
September and into October but never as many as I counted this am.

Who took 6 brave kids and 4 parents out today into furious rain squalls to
mess around with..... worms. We also counted coots and ducks but worms were
much more interesting.

Hoping the big blow yesterday might have driven in some interesting pelagic
birds to King County waters I checked off Pt. Wells (Richmond Beach) this
morning and rode the Southworth Ferry over and back this afternoon.

Nothing out of the ordinary however.
