I've observed Heerman's Gulls in the hundreds on the edmonds jetty for the past 3 octobers, on the southern section that encloses the (gated) marina. What amazes me is their near perfect cryptic coloration for the background of dark ,bird whitewashed, rock. Even with binocular viewing its amazing how many are out there and how nearly invisible they are.
