My wife Elisabeth and I birded the Methow River Valley and Waterville Plateau today. We found the Osprey perched in a Cottonwood tree 2 miles north of Pateros on the Methow River. Eight Common Redpolls (3 males/5 females/juveniles) were seen 2 miles south of the intersection of county roads D NW and 20 NW in Douglas County. A Northern Shrike was also seen in this area.
