Today was a great day! Nice weather and good birds on my trip from Elma to Ocean Shores and back. I visited the Hoquiam STP, Grays Harbor NWR, Ocean Shores, and lastly the Brady Loop area. I tallied 77 species for the day with a few nice birds. Here's the highlights:

Hoquiam STP:

1 Long-tailed Duck
1 Eared Grebe
1 Ruddy Duck
several Canvasback

Grays Harbor NWR:

1 Marbled Godwit
1 Ruddy Turnstone
5 or more Eurasian Wigeon
4 Long-billed Dowitchers
1 Hermit Thrush (sneaky bird in the willows)
Dunlin are back in good numbers

Ocean Shores STP:

3 Greater White-fronted Geese
6 Cackling Geese

Brady Loop:

Rough-legged Hawk (seen as it dropped into a field along the Monte-Brady Rd.)
2 American Kestrel

Good birding!
