Highlights of birding at Ridgefield NWR today (26 October 2007), 9:30 am -
3:00 pm:

-- my first ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK of the season, in the SE portion of the River
S Unit
-- two GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GEESE at the River S Unit

-- one RED-NECKED PHALAROPE at the Carty Unit
-- a lone TUNDRA SWAN at the Carty Unit
-- flock of 21 GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GEESE at the Carty Unit

For those into insects, I ran into a praying mantid at the Carty Unit on 6
October 2007 -- is this an unusual species for Ridgefield?
