Tweeters,

When faced with birding a new location I have found two resources to be
extremely helpful. The internet, especially GOOGLE, and an up to date
printed birder's guide. If you are a Washington State birder you
absolutely should have a copy of Hal Opperman's "A Birder's Guide to
Washington". Are you headed for Southern California after the fires
are out? Bring along a copy of the ABA (American Birding Association)
"A Birder's Guide to Southern California" by Brad Schram.

Opperman writes on page 159, "The Montlake Fill ("the Fill" for short;
officially Union Bay Natural Area)" is a popular and productive birding
destination on Lake Washington." Turn the page, study the map, and
confusion evaporates. Perhaps Kent and Boeing Ponds will be in the
second edition.
