Greetings Tweeters,

I have been off the list most of the summer, so am not
sure if there has been a post recently on the subject
bird/location of this post.

Anyway, I was at the Keystone Ferry on Whidbey Island
today (12:30 p.m.)and had wonderful views of a Common
Murre right at the ferry dock. This is the first time
I have seen one at this location (and the best
sighting I have had of the species); I am curious; are
they are seen often at this spot? It really stood-out
amongst the mergansers and grebes. I watched the
murre for quite some time from the pay-parking area
bordering the ferry landing to the east.

There were 6 Lesser Scaup on the ponds at the eastern
end of the spit, another species I usually don't see
there. It may be timing, since I do not regularly
bird Whidbey Island.
