I drove the beach in Ocean Shores from the Best Western access north to the next beach access road stopping in several places to walk the high tide line and found no Mountain Plover this morning. I did see one American Pipit in the dunes. Also, I watched a large group of Sanderlings running back and forth on the beach with a few Dunlin scattered in with them.

I then birded Griffiths-Priday State Park in Copalis. I walked much of the area north of the picnic area and found it very active with birds. Sparrows and chickadees dominated the bushes with one American Robin seen. Nothing out of the ordinary though. On the beach just south of the "canal" that cuts out to the ocean from the park, I found what I believe is a dead Laysan Albatross. It wasn't very fresh, but from the bill and the overall coloration I'm pretty sure that is what is was. I have pictures of it if anyone is interested.

On the way home, I drove through the Brady Loop area and saw a Cooper's Hawk, one Kestrel, and one Western Meadowlark.
