Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Wednesday October 31. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls

On October 28 an AMERICAN TREE SPARROW was on the North Spit of Coos Bay.
Three SNOW BUNTINGS were seen October 29 at the South Jetty of the Siuslaw
River. Two NORTHERN SHRIKES were there October 27. A white phases GYRFALCON
was reported October 29 at Siletz. On October 28, 80 ANCIENT MURRELETS and
500 RHINOCEROS AUKLETS were off Boiler Bay. Over 200 KITTIWAKES and 50
BONAPARTE?S GULLS were at the South Jetty of the Columbia River October 28.
A NORTHERN SHRIKE was there the day before.

A heavy movement of SANDHILL CRANES passed southward over the Willamette
Valley October 25. On October 27 two ROUGH-LEGGED HAWKS were at Ridgefield
NWR. A LAPLAND LONGSPUR was there the next day. On October 27 a BLACK PHOEBE
was at the Portland Airport. A female COSTA?S or BLACK-CHINNED HUMMINGBIRD
is now coming to a northeast Portland feeder. On October 28, 12 CASSIN?S
FINCHES were at Eagle Butte east of Larch Mountain. A COMMON YELLOWHTROAT
was at the Fernhill Wetlands October 27. A CHESTNUT-COLLARED LONGSPUR was
near Coburg October 28.

On October 26 two SURF SCOTERS, six COMMON LOONS, and a PACIFIC LOON were
at Haystack Reservoir near Madras. Over 2300 BONAPARTE?S GULLS and two SURF
SCOTERS are now at Upper Klamath Lake.
