I had my best day ever at Juanita Bay Park today with a personal best of 76
species. There were many highlights including two new species for the park
and two species of owl (both during the day!). I also missed several birds
that have been around this week including DC Cormorant, Hooded Merganser,
Cooper's Hawk, Western Gull, RB Sapsucker, Warbling Vireo & Dark-eyed Junco.

WESTERN SCREECH-OWL - I whistled back and forth with one for fifteen minutes
in the middle of the afternoon. It was calling from a dense patch of
willows and blackberries at the end of 108th so I was never able to see it.
