Hi, this is Tom Aversa reporting on a trip yesterday - an overnight trip
Wednesday-Thursday to Harts Pass. The road is open, so that's good news.
On the Slate Peak Tower, there was a hen with a couple of baby
half-grown PTARMIGAN. In the Harts Pass area was a GOLDEN EAGLE, about
seven THREE-TOED WOODPECKERS, a WESTERN KINGBIRD, three LONG-EARED OWLS,
and a SAW-WHET OWL. Also very big flocks of migrants. Huge numbers of
Chipping Sparrows. Thanks.

Yes, Scott Downes. Had a RUFF this morning at the entrance to Midway
Beach between 9:45 and the bird flew off at 10:00. This is on the pond
to the left as you enter Midway Beach. The bird flew off to the south. I
don't know if it will be relocated, but people in the area should keep a
watch out. Phone number (509) 833-8331 in case you have questions.
Thanks, bye.

This is Douglas Marshall, (206) 270-8960. This Monday, August 27, at
8:08 AM, I saw a single BROWN PELICAN from the 7:55
Seattle-to-Bainbridge Island ferry boat. The ferry boat was
approximately due south of the Westport lighthouse at the time that I
saw the Brown Pelican. Good luck and good birding.
