I had a Pelagic trip scheduled for last Sunday and decided to spend some time on Saturday birding the Ocean Shores and Hoquiam areas before and after the trip. I made stops in Hoquiam on Saturday (along Paulson Road - at the Hoquiam STP) searching for the TENNESSEE WARBLER and on Monday searching for the MAGNOLIA WARBLER to no avail, but had a great time lookimg through the warbler flocks. After leaving this area on Saturday I stopped at the Oyhut Game Range in Ocean Shores where I found a group of 7 plovers, and was able to identify an adult male PACIFIC GOLDEN-PLOVER in breeding plumage before the birds took flight. (A word of note; there is hunting going on at this time at the game range). Also, at the game range I located a group of 6 BUFF-BREASTED SANDPIPERS.

The Pelagic trip turned out to be real easy going as the seas were extremely calm, and the spotters on board the Monte Carlo were excellent as is usual.
