Well, I've replaced what was stolen last month, even upgrading to the new
Canon 40D in the process. I took it out in the yard this morning for a trial
and what a party developed as, one after another, the birds came to see.
There are so many Red Crossbills right now I have to remind myself they are
not a common bird in this area. The Song Sparrows, Juncos, White-crowned
Sparrows and even the Doves enjoyed corn for breakfast, although one Dove
just kinda watched. An Audubon's Warbler had a grub instead. Everyone seemed
to want to bathe except the hummingbirds, a Rufous and an Anna's. Both
hummers were youngsters as were a large number of all the birds. Robins of
course, a Tanager, Cedar Waxwings, Pine Siskins, BC Chickadees and Steller's
Jay were there. Also seen were squirrels and a rabbit.
